For gem enthusiasts and music festival goers this is conveniently timed at the same time as Tucson’s Gem, Mineral and Fossil showcase which is ongoing the three weeks surrounding this festival. Relentless Beats curates a perfect hidden GEM of a festival where the energy is unmatched. Bringing in thousands of like minded individuals looking to experience more than just music and coming together to create a weekend of lifelong memories.
Three days of music, camping, love, creativity, immersive art, oh and of course GEMS! By day, Im freely wandering the beautiful festival grounds and experiencing the endless creativity there is to offer. When golden hour rolls around, you can find me catching a vibe at the sunset set feeling the energy and taking in the amazing desert scenery dancing my way into the night that awaits!
With the festival offering so many unique workshops it made it so easy to step out of my comfort zone and try things I’ve never dabbled into before. Whether you are looking to zen out or get your body moving there is a workshop for everyone, I mean EVERYONE! Workshops such as drum circles, tai chi (mind and body practice), and beginner shibari. My favorite? The intro to the flow arts including poi spinning and silk fan flowing for beginners. Beyond this, there are soo many more amazing things awaiting. Being that this is an all ages event, it is solely driven on the love from the community, even offering family workshops to get the future Gem and Jammers included! Future ravers loading…
Beyond this greatness, it only gets better when it comes to the diverse music there is to offer with four exclusive art driven stages to jam at. Going into the weekend I picked out only the artist on the lineup I was familiar with, just to find out my favorite sets of the weekend were artists I never even heard of! Stumbled upon a Loud Flower set at the breathtaking Quartz stage and I will forever think about the vibes I felt. Got a little weird and wonky at the Onyx stage with my besties for Wonky Willas iconic set followed by one of my favorites The Widdler. Talk about obsessed! For the chill, let me lay on the grass and recover sets, I immersed myself into the beats of Desert Dwellers and Moontricks at the Emerald Stage and enjoyed the company of my camp neighbors who before the weekend were strangers yet now the love I have for them is indescribable! As for my favorite stage, the Opal Stage, I vibed out to a few local AZ artists, including Konstrukt and Sava who brought all the bass and had the crowd absolutely groovin’. Not to mention, there was a school bus in which you can climb to the top of and use as a viewing deck right next to this stage!! AMAZING.
A weekend full of love as I was riding the waves in my festival element was almost too good to say goodbye to. But the memories, the music and most of all, the beautiful souls I met along the way will forever be in my full heart after a weekend like this! As this being my second Gem and Jam I can only say it gets better and better and I can’t wait to experience it time and time again. See you next year isn’t just a statement, but more of a promise!
Til next year, Gem and Jammers!
