DC Gets Another Chance to GLOW: Block Party Returns October 24th!

GLOW Block Party Is Taking Over the Streets of DC!

There’s something about a block party that just hits different. Maybe it’s dancing outside in the middle of the city, maybe it’s watching a street you’d normally drive down turn into a massive dance floor, or maybe it’s just spending an entire afternoon surrounded by good music, good people and festival energy.

Whatever it is, I’m here for it. If you’re planning on going to take over the streets of DC, you might as well do it VIP. ✨

And it looks like we’re going to have to wait just a little bit longer for this one.

GLOW Block Party has officially moved from Saturday, October 17th to Saturday, October 24th. So, while we have one extra week to wait, The Chainsmokers, MK, Lavern, Eyezic and Emmy Adelle are still set to take over Pennsylvania Avenue.

And honestly? I think it’ll be worth the wait.

From The Chainsmokers returning to DC to MK playing a sunset set, plus Lavern, Eyezic, Emmy Adelle and an entire stage dedicated to local talent, there is A LOT happening throughout the day.

And the best part? It all happens outside, right in the heart of Washington, DC.

THE LINEUP

Leading the lineup are The Chainsmokers, who are making their first large-scale DC appearance in seven years.

I feel like everyone has at least one Chainsmokers song permanently stored somewhere in their brain. “Closer,” “Don’t Let Me Down,” “Something Just Like This” — you already know there are going to be some huge sing-along moments when those songs start playing.

But they’re definitely not the only reason I’m excited about this lineup.

MK IS PLAYING A SUNSET SET.

I mean… come on.

There are certain artists that just make sense at sunset, and getting MK while the sun is going down over an outdoor party in DC sounds like one of those sets you don’t want to miss.

Then we have Lavern, whose melodic stutter-house sound feels basically made for an outdoor afternoon set. If you’ve heard tracks like “Hold Me,” you already know the vibe.

We’re also getting Eyezic, who is actually from DC and mixes stutter house, UK garage and bass into his sound, making his set another one I’m really curious to catch.

And rounding out the main lineup is Emmy Adelle, bringing another dose of house and dance energy to Pennsylvania Avenue.

DON’T FORGET ABOUT THE HOMEGROWN STAGE

One thing I really like about this Block Party is that GLOW isn’t only bringing in the bigger touring names.

They’re also giving DC’s local scene its own stage.

The Homegrown Stage will feature BRI. b2b CLXÐA, Doug, RAASI, Syre and WHYNOT, giving us plenty to bounce between throughout the day.

Honestly, some of my favorite festival discoveries have come from randomly walking over to another stage and hearing someone I’ve never listened to before.

So if you’re going, don’t spend the entire day parked at the main stage.

Explore a little!

You might leave with a new favorite DJ.

PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE IS BECOMING THE DANCE FLOOR

This is probably the part I’m most excited about.

Instead of walking into a traditional venue, we’re getting a full outdoor dance party on Pennsylvania Avenue.

For one day, GLOW is transforming the street with festival-level production, art installations, local food vendors, activations, multiple stages and thousands of people dancing in the middle of DC.

There’s just something so fun about seeing a place that normally looks completely ordinary get taken over by ravers for the day.

The party starts at 3 PM, which means we get that progression I LOVE at festivals.

You arrive while the sun is still out, wander around, grab some food, check out a few artists, meet random people in the crowd…

Then golden hour hits.

MK takes over for sunset.

The lights start becoming more noticeable.

And suddenly you’re dancing outside at night in the middle of Washington, DC.

Yeah. I’m sold.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

GLOW Block Party is now set to take place Saturday, October 24th at 600 Pennsylvania Ave NW in Washington, DC.

The event starts at 3 PM and runs until 10 PM, and it is 18+.

There will also be bars throughout the event for anyone 21+ with a valid ID, along with food and local vendors.

One important thing to know: there is no re-entry, so once you’re inside, you’re in for the day.

And honestly, with The Chainsmokers, an MK sunset set, Lavern, Eyezic, Emmy Adelle, a full Homegrown Stage and an entire street to explore… I don’t think leaving is going to be much of a problem.

SEE YOU IN THE STREETS, DC

Between the location, the lineup and the idea of turning Pennsylvania Avenue into one giant outdoor dance floor, this feels like such a fun way to spend a Saturday in DC.

Personally, I’m most excited for that MK sunset set, bouncing over to the Homegrown Stage to discover some new artists, and then ending the night screaming songs I haven’t heard live in years with thousands of other people.

Good music. A massive outdoor dance floor. The middle of Washington, DC.

What else do we really need?

We might have to wait one extra week, but Washington DC, you will definitely be catching me in these streets.

SEE YOU OCTOBER 24TH! 🕺✨
