Camp Kouch: Your Best New Homie Fest

Camp Kouch: Your Best New Homie Fest

If you love a festival that feels wooky, wild, and close-knit, Camp Kouch is the fest for you.

Grassroots, funky, artsy, a little feral, super community-driven, and full of the kind of people who definitely have fox fails hooked to their bags, pashminas in rotation, and at least one friend who says “the vibes are immaculate” unironically.

And honestly? We loved every second of it.

We Love Independently Run Festivals

There’s just something so special about a small, independently run camping fest that still feels like it’s for the people.

Camp Kouch had that energy from the jump.

It wasn’t giving corporate. It wasn’t giving polished-to-death. It wasn’t giving “let’s make content and leave.”

This past weekend gave us so much more:

  • Camp neighbors becoming family
  • Spontaneous side quests
  • Watching flow artists at The Living Room stage
  • Pashminas flapping in the wind
  • People dancing barefoot at sunset
  • Random, deep conversations with strangers at 3am
  • And that magical “I can’t believe we’re here in this moment” feeling that reminds you why you love festivals in the first place

It felt intimate, fun, welcoming, and genuinely rooted in community, which is honestly becoming harder and harder to find these days.

Grll Smth Handing Out Glizzies in the Woodlands

And just when we thought Camp Kouch couldn’t get any more wooky… Grll Smth entered the chat.

Yes, you read that correctly.

On Sunday, kLL sMTH fully transformed into Grll Smth and hosted an actual cookout, complete with hot dogs and hamburgers fresh off the grill being passed out to the crowd.

Grll Smth felt so perfectly aligned with the whole spirit of the weekend. Fun, unexpected, a little absurd, and deeply rooted in that DIY, family reunion-in-the-forest kind of energy.

Honestly, Grll Smth handing out glizzies in the woods might go down as one of the best moments of the weekend. And we loved every minute of it.

This Weekend Felt Like a Reset in the Best Way

Camp Kouch really gave us a perfect weekend getaway with our friends.

Where your only responsibilities are:

  • figuring out where your friends wandered off to
  • deciding when your next side quest is
  • and locating your pashmina

For a few days, nothing else mattered.

Just music, trees, camp hangs, art, silly little moments, and the pure joy of existing in a place where everyone’s on the same beautifully strange wavelength.

That’s what made Camp Kouch feel so special.

Camp Kouch Already Feels Like a Hidden Gem

For a first-year fest, Camp Kouch really came through with that “if you know, you know” energy.

It already feels like one of those small festivals people are going to talk about.

Camp Kouch got it down.

The have the sauce:

  • intimate size
  • independent spirit
  • scenic woodland location
  • a crowd that actually gets it
  • and that beautiful grassroots vibe that makes a festival feel so special

Not perfect.
Not over-curated.
Not trying too hard.

Just authentic, funky, and full of soul.

Exactly how we like it.

Till Next Year Fam

This isn’t a goodbye, but a see you next year! This festival left a mark on our hearts. Camp Kouch’s first year reminded us that not every festival needs to be massive to be memorable.

Sometimes the best weekends come from the smaller, intimate, wookier festivals.

The ones where the lineup matters, but the community is the heart of it.

Camp Kouch you were so good to us.
Same time, next year? 😎
