For two days, Orlando traded theme parks for dance floors, butterflies and a whole lot of electronic music.
Metamorphosis Music Festival 2026 took over the Orlando Amphitheater on August 28th and 29th, bringing together house, bass, melodic electronic music, art and a lineup that made choosing where to be at any given moment nearly impossible.
And for a festival built around the idea of transformation, Metamorphosis definitely knew how to create its own little world.
A LINEUP THAT GAVE US A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING
One of my favorite things about Metamorphosis was how much variety there was throughout the weekend.
This wasn’t one of those festivals where every stage felt like a slightly different version of the last one.
You could be dancing to house at one stage, walk across the festival and suddenly find yourself surrounded by headbangers, then end up watching a melodic set that had the entire crowd in their feelings.
Friday brought artists like Ganja White Night, Sullivan King, Deathpact, OMNOM, DJ Susan, Canabliss and more, giving us a mix of bass, dubstep and plenty of house to dance to.
And then Saturday kept that variety going with ILLENIUM, INZO, BUNT., Cassian, DØMINA, DRINKURWATER and plenty more spread across the festival.
Personally, that’s exactly what I want from a lineup.
Give me something to dance to.
Give me something to headbang to.
Give me something emotional.
And please give me at least one set where I completely forget who I originally planned on seeing because I randomly walked past another stage and couldn’t leave.
Metamorphosis gave us all of it.
HOUSE MUSIC DEFINITELY HAD ITS MOMENTS 🪩
And while Metamorphosis had plenty for the bass lovers, the house side of this lineup deserves some love too.
Between artists like OMNOM, DJ Susan, Cassian, BUNT. and others throughout the weekend, there were plenty of opportunities to trade the headbanging for dancing.
That’s something I really enjoyed about the festival.
You didn’t have to commit yourself to one specific type of electronic music for two straight days. If you wanted something heavier, you could find it. If you wanted to dance, you could find that too.
And sometimes after spending an hour getting absolutely destroyed by bass, walking into a house set and just GROOVING is exactly what you need.
MORE THAN JUST THE MUSIC
Metamorphosis also wasn’t trying to be just another place to watch DJs.
Between the immersive art, butterfly-inspired details, interactive experiences and different areas to explore throughout the grounds, the festival really leaned into its Metamorphosis theme.
And I LOVE when festivals do that.
A good lineup will get me through the gates, but it’s all of the weird little things you discover between sets that make a festival memorable.
Sometimes your favorite part of the weekend isn’t even something you planned.
It’s stumbling onto a smaller stage. Finding an art installation. Meeting random people in the crowd, or hearing a DJ you’ve never listened to before absolutely throw down.
Those are the moments that turn a lineup into an actual festival experience.
FOUR STAGES, WAY TOO MANY DECISIONS
With four stages spread throughout the festival, there was constantly something happening.
And naturally, that meant dealing with every festival-goer’s greatest enemy:
SET CONFLICTS.
Do I stay here?
Do I run to the house stage?
Do I leave this set halfway through because someone else I desperately want to see starts in five minutes?
You know the struggle.
But having too many artists you want to see is a pretty good problem for a festival to have.
The different stages also gave Metamorphosis a chance to showcase completely different sides of electronic music throughout the same weekend, which kept things interesting no matter where you ended up.
ORLANDO NEEDED THIS 🦋
Florida has a massive electronic music community, and having another festival bringing this kind of lineup to Central Florida is something I’m very excited to see continue growing.
Metamorphosis still feels like a caterpillar slowly becoming the most beautiful butterfly… aka, everyone’s future favorite festival. 🦋
Metamorphosis is still such a new festival, which means there is SO much potential for what it could become. And the fact that it’s already this great this early on makes me even more excited to see where it goes from here.
This festival is still growing, evolving and figuring out exactly what it wants to be — and honestly, that might be one of the most exciting parts about experiencing it right now.
We’re getting to watch the metamorphosis happen in real time. 🦋
