Wakaan Music Festival 2025: 5 Years of Wakaan, 10 Years of Magic ✨

Wakaan Music Festival 2025: 5 Years of Wakaan, 10 Years of Magic ✨

Last weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of attending Wakaan Music Festival for the very first time, and wow, what an unforgettable experience. This year marked not only the 5th anniversary of the festival, but also the 10th anniversary of the Wakaan label, and the team went all out to celebrate. From the moment I arrived, the energy was magnetic. You could feel that this weekend was going to be something truly special.

Let’s start with the lineup…because it was nothing short of perfection. Every single set was top-tier. There wasn’t one performance where I wasn’t jumping down and dancing my butt off. The curation was flawless, from the heavy hitters to the deep experimental sets from sunrise to sundown.

Some standout sets for me were Mersiv, who absolutely destroyed the stage, Zingara, who brought pure divine feminine power, and Ganja White Night, who surprised us all with a new sound that had us wobbling the whole time. Distinct Motive took us deep into the trenches of bass, Rusko reminded everyone why he’s a true OG, and Zen Selekta brought the vibe into a meditative, transcendent space that had the whole crowd moving as one.

And of course…Liquid Stranger. The man, the myth, the king of dubstep himself. He blessed us with three completely different sets across the weekend, and each one was better than the last.  Liquid knows exactly what he’s doing, and watching him in his element, surrounded by a crowd that adores him and the community he’s built, was honestly emotional.

This year was extra special The Festival Babes hosted two on-site activations during the weekend, and they were such a huge hit! We brought the Wook Spelling Bee and Wakaan’s Got Talent to life, and the community showed out.

The Spelling Bee, hosted by Ravenscoon and Chozen,  was absolutely hilarious.  Watching people in full rave fits trying to spell words like “phantasmagoria” and “spaghetti” was next-level entertainment. The crowd was roaring with laughter the entire time, and it truly captured the playful, family-style energy that makes Wakaan so unique.

Then came Wakaan’s Got Talent, hosted by TVBOO, where fans got to show off their hidden skills. From singing to yo-yoing, to arm pit farts?. I have genuinely never laughed so hard in my entire life. The vibe was pure joy and community, and seeing everyone come together just to have fun and be silly was so wholesome.

Hosting those activations was such a proud moment for The Festival Babes. To see so many people participate, support, and just enjoy being part of something lighthearted and creative reminded us exactly why we do what we do: to bring people together through shared experiences and good vibes.

I’ve been to a lot of festivals, but I can confidently say that Wakaan had one of the best crowds I’ve ever experienced. Everyone was so kind, respectful, and radiating love. You could walk up to anyone and instantly feel like old friends. Wakaan is like one big happy family.

This year, I decided to go the glamping route, and it honestly made the entire weekend so smooth. Being able to fly in from another state without lugging camping gear was a game-changer. Everything was already set up when I arrived: a cozy tent with a cot and Tempur-Pedic mattress, chairs, a table, a lantern, and even a fan.

After long days of dancing, having a real bed to crash in felt like heaven. The glamping village had such a peaceful vibe.  Everyone around was friendly, and it felt like its own little community within the festival. If you’re thinking about coming to Wakaan next year and traveling from afar, I 100% recommend going the glamping route. It’s worth it for the convenience and comfort alone.

Wakaan is a celebration of connection, creativity, and bass. This year’s anniversary felt like a love letter to the fans, artists, and the culture that’s grown around the label. It’s so rare to find a space where thousands of people can come together and feel so united through sound.

By the end of the weekend, my heart was full, my feet were sore, and my soul felt completely recharged. Wakaan 2025 reminded me why I fell in love with this community. The music, the people, the freedom to be exactly who you are.

To Liquid Stranger and the entire Wakaan team: thank you for creating a space that feels like home. You’ve built something far beyond a festival. You’ve built a family.
