Breakaway Arizona took place on April 24th and 25th at Sloan Park in Phoenix, Arizona. The babes had the best time dancing the weekend away in the desert! Surrounded by palm trees and perfect spring temperatures, it honestly felt like the kind of weekend you wish you could bottle up and replay. Breakaway is the largest touring music festival in the country. With each city having its own curated lineup, this stop definitely delivered. This event had a larger festival feel–big stages and full production–without the long lines or an overwhelming crowd which I loved.
This year’s edition of Breakaway AZ had two stages, the main stage and the L.A.B. (Leave it All Behind) stage, as well as several activities to explore between sets. One of my favorite parts of the whole weekend was the Club Sandwich Silent Disco. The Jimmy Johns/Club Sandwich theme was over the top in the best way. They had three DJS spinning at once, so you could flip between channels depending on your mood. There was literally a giant sub sandwich disco ball and they were handing out free Jimmy Johns chips. This was easily one of the most unique silent disco setups I’ve ever seen!
There were also tons of other activities around the festival. The BeatBox truck had a photo booth, plus merch airbrushing and even a caricature artist. Celsius came through with a tent giving out free energy drinks which was honestly a lifesaver!
Music-wise, Breakaway Arizona had a solid mix of both house and bass artists so there was something for everyone! If you were craving bass, the L.A.B. stage went off with sets from Effin, Mersiv, Truth, and Jon Casey. On the house side, we were dancing nonstop to artists like Disco Dom, Loud Luxury, Habstrakt, and James Hype. Headliners Marshmellow and Kygo closed things out in the best way possible. It was such a treat getting to see both of them in one weekend. Main stage production was complete with pyro, lasers, and fireworks lighting up the night.
By the end of the weekend, we were dusty, tired, and already wishing we could do it all over again. Breakaway Arizona really nailed that perfect balance—full production, good music, and enough space to enough it all without feeling overwhelmed. This festival is definitely one we’d go back to!
